Fitness Tip please   oh and weight loss?

I'm a 34 y/o male, have joined the gym and aim to lose approx 2 stone in weight. I am just wondering what is the best exercise routine to take and how often? any preferred times to workout (any time after 1600hrs). I know that there are other factors such as diet and metabolism but just a rigid schedule that I can keep to. its a good gym with all the required weights and cardio equipment so I should utilise the opportunity really. I just need motivation. just another question, what sort of length of time could I achieve weight loss and fitness if I stick to the diet and fitness plan etc.

I lost 65 lbs going to the gym and I also do other things like runs and cycling now.

My core workout is not difficult but I took the approach that consistency beats intensity every time.

I work at the gym min 3days a week and sometimes 4 for a duration of 1.5 hours.
I work Chest, back, arms, stomach and legs every time. That is generally two set of 15 reps.
sit-ups are 90 each visit. this only takes 30 minutes.

I also work 60 minutes of cardio. As i have gotten stronger i run more but I will change it up to prevent mental boredom. for example i might use the elliptical 15 minutes to warm up, run 30 and stationary bike 15.

As for weight loss. That is 80% diet. One meal eating out can blow an entire 1.5 hours at the gym.
Count your calories and make better choices. Stick to it.
